for Day16- Bunch of Yellow Calla Lillies

Watercolor painting in 7.5x5.5inches Arches watercolor paper.

My first time to paint calla lillies. Usual calla lily compositions are arranged upright. I decided to paint in the fast becoming favorite color in the Philippines - yellow. Yellow's new meaning is hope.

My 16th painting out of the 100. 84 to go!

This is one of my favorites. Wet-on-wet technique with orange and red color combination. I also love the configuration of the flowers. Also, more of this in the future!

for Day14- Lavender Tulips

I enjoyed doing this piece. I used the wet-on-wet technique for this painting. I also employed artistic license in doing this. Though I was able to visit Holland, I wasn't able to see lavender tulips in my short stay there. I saw tulip blooms with two tones. As for the Philippines, the usual available colors come in white, yellow and pink. Tulips are wonderful painting subjects. The shapes are basic yet their presence can easily be seen. I plan to paint more of them in the future.

for Day13- Mango Cheesecake

Another cheesecake, this time with mango balls and dollops of whipped cream. This is really making me hungry.

First, there were the macarons. Then, there were the cupcakes. Now, there are the cheesecakes. My hubby and mom tell me that I do floral still life the best. However, I have this weird fascination for food still life. I am a certified foodie. However, I do have to watch my weight. I guess, if I can not eat them all... I might as well paint them. A visual feast, yummy!

I was staying at my parents house when I painted this. There was an ongoing "rotational" brownout that time. My mother and I decided to use the free time doing watercolor painting. This is the end result. Fortunately, the busted transformer at their area is now fixed. I'm also hoping and praying that good fortune and everything positive will come Manila and the Philippines.

To Brighter Days Ahead...

I was supposed to post Day 4's watercolor painting last Sunday. Due to last weekend's typhoon, paintings for Days 5-6 (including today) will be posted on the succeeding days.

For this day, I will allot this blog's entry to what happened last weekend. The storm has passed. I fervently hope that the lessons learned in this situation would lead to a better Philippines. I am always hoping and praying for the coming better days...

1) I am thankful to God for keeping my family and people I know safe. I pray that those stranded on the top of their house roof be rescued. I pray that evacuees receive the relief goods immediately. I pray that they resume their normal lives. I pray the fortunate share their blessings. I pray that public officials to really serve their constituents.
2) I am praying that the weather situation will improve. I am hoping for sunny days ahead. I really believe in the power of prayer.
3) I am hoping that Filipinos will learn to be more vigilant and be more proactive than reactive.
4) I am promising to do my share in helping the typhoon victims.
5) I am pledging to do my active part in saving the environment.

I am praying that everything will be back to normal and be all right.
