Deck the Door(ways) with Pots of Flowers...

EMOVERE of the moment: REMINISCING...

One of my favorite pictures from Poland is the one taken from Poznan. Its Stary Rynek (Minor Town) boasts of colorful structures. While wandering around looking for a place to dine in, we saw this shop. This shop by the corner of Swieloslawska, has doorways decked with pots of flowers. Beautiful hanging plants add hue to the already colorful town. The vibrance of the colors used in the facades definitely exemplifies the lively people of Poland.

Sweet Equation

EMOVERE of the moment: MACARONNED!

*almond powder+eggs whites+powdered sugar = MACARON

*teapot+teacup+macarons = DELIGHTFUL PAINTING

These gastronomic and visual feasts are such sweet equations!

Ganache filling sandwiched between two thin macaron shells, a truly delicious treat. I've been craving for these sweets. The only local patisserie here in Manila that offers macarons is Bizu. To starve off the craving, I decided to paint them. Wonder which is a more delightful experience...viewing or eating them? :)

Let Them Eat Cake

EMOVERE of the moment: CHARMED!!!
Imagine Marie Antoinette roaming the vast gardens of Versailles.

To roam the manicured lawns and flower beds means to work up a huge appetite. It's no big secret that she eats so heartily. To wander within these beautiful gardens could make you lose your resolve...to both the beauty and abundance of things around her. No wonder she can't help but say, "Let them eat cake"...

When Life Hands You Lemons

EMOVERE of the moment: JUICED! :D
When life throws you lemons, you make lemonade. The watercolor painting is the literal translation of the cliched adage. When life hands me watercolor, I make paintings. hahaha... Happy viewing! :)

Bangkok Blooms

EMOVERE of the moment: BLOOMING
Bangkok is one busy Asian city. Aside from the usual sites, local scenery and delicious food fare, Bangkok is world renowned for their orchid blooms. I chanced upon one orchid show at Centara Grand. To my delight, dozens of booths were set up to showcase the orchid plants. I spent half of the day just gazing at the beautiful flowers exhibited. I was treated to a visual feasts. Below is my watercolor painting of one the booths on the Annual Orchid Show.

Emovere

EMOVERE of the moment: WATERCOLOURED!

This is my first blog post. The image is also my first watercolor attempt after 10 (or more) years. As I was thinking of hobby to while my time away, watercolor painting came to mind. It is still leaning on the creative side, minus the technicalities of architecture. I've dabbled in acrylic painting last year. After the 7 month break from acrylic painting, I will put my "talent" to a test. To produce soft yet vivid images will be the ultimate goal. I do hope I achieved that one in this painting. Though acrylic and watercolor employs the same application technique, one has to be very careful with watercolor. With acrylic, you could correct your errors with a new coat of color. With watercolor, proper color layering is a must.
EMOVERE is the Latin word that means - "to move greatly" or "to take away". In English, it translate to EMOTIONS. I will be posting images and scenes both seen and dreamed by me!
This creation can also be seen on my etsy shop - http://emovere.etsy.com/. See you there!
